The Management Committee reserve the right to reject any application for membership Notes Further to a proposal from the Management Committee at the AGM in January 2010, the levels of Membership of the Club were expanded. The following is a guide to the various levels of Membership now Honourary Life Membership: This is bestowed upon long serving, loyal Members of the Club at an AGM and entitles the recipient to free Full Membership for life. Full Membership: Full playing Membership for people over 18 on August 31st of the previous year entitling them to one vote at AGM. Full Membership (Over 18 Student / Unemployed): Reduced fee Full Membership for people over 18 on August 31st of the previous year and still in full time education or unemployed entitling them to play and have one vote at AGM. Junior Membership (Under 18): Playing Membership for all people under 18 on August 31st of the previous year. This Membership comes with one vote at the AGM. This vote is to be cast by the Social Member who must be named in the relevant section of the form. (1 Junior + 1 Adult) Family Membership: This is for families with two Junior Members at the Club and comes with Social Membership for one Parent / Guardian and one vote at AGM. This vote is to be cast by the Social Member who must be named in the relevant section of the form. (2 Juniors + 1 Adult) Reasons for Membership People must become Members of STCC for legal and financial reasons - Legal - all players must become Members of the Club to ensure they are covered for insurance purposes. Anyone using the Club facilities (unless attending a private function or as a signed in guest) must be a Member to comply with licencing laws. A fee is paid by the Club to Heslam Park for all cricket Club Members. Financial - cricket is a very expensive sport to run. Whilst we receive some support from Heslam Park, we still have many expenses including coach training course fees, training equipment, match balls, league affiliation fees etc. All of our coaches, managers and other volunteers give up their time for free but there are always other costs that need covering. The vast majority of Clubs charge an annual Membership, and those that don't generally charge a large weekly match fee. We do try to monitor the fees charged by other Clubs and we believe that we offer excellent value for money for the facilities and coaching provided. Members (subject to the above levels of Membership) have the right to attend the annual AGM and vote against any proposed rises in Membership fees.
